Hue among top 8 most affordable tourist destinations in Asia

With an average room rate of 43 USD, Hue ranks third in the top 8 cities with the best hotel room rates in Asia in April and May, the time of many festivals and holidays in countries.

The online travel platform Agoda has just announced 8 destinations with the lowest average room rates, as many Asian people are eagerly looking forward to the upcoming holidays.

According to the results announced by Agoda, April and May are the months of many major events and festivals that attract visitors in Asia, such as Songkran (Thailand), Hari Raya (Malaysia), and the Golden Week, Hung King’s death anniversary, or the April 30 – May 1 holiday in Vietnam. During this peak period, Hue City is the destination offering the best room rate in Vietnam, and ranking third in Asia, at an average of around 43 USD per night. In 2023, Ninh Binh held this leading position.

According to this results, Udon Thani in Thailand leads the list of 8 most budget-friendly destinations in Asia, with an average room rate of 28 USD. Surabaya in Indonesia is in second place with an average room rate of around 39 USD.

Meanwhile, in Vietnam, Hue Ancient Capital is where visitors can enjoy the most competitive room rates in April and May, with an average room rate of 43 USD (approximately VND 1,066,000). An Agoda representative said that Hue was a must-visit destination on a trip to explore Vietnam.

Located in Central Vietnam, Hue is a city rich in history and culture, once the capital of the Nguyen Dynasty. It is famous for its impressive historical monuments, most notably Hue Imperial Citadel, a part of the Complex of Hue Monuments recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage. The poetic Huong River meandering around the city adds to Hue’s charm. Visitors can experience a cruise on the river, and admire the panoramic view of the ancient architecture along the banks.
